Join us in congratulating Assumption’s Quinn Conlon– Loran Scholar

Join us in congratulating Assumption’s Quinn ConlonLoran Scholar

The Loran Scholarship is the largest and most unconventional undergraduate merit scholarship in the country. Character, service and leadership are the criteria for this scholarship, in which only 30 high school graduates are chosen across the nation from a pool of 3700 applicants. The Loran Scholar selection process is the most rigorous in Canada involving multiple rounds of personal interviews at the regional and national level.

The Assumption school community is honoured to celebrate our own, Quinn Conlon, with this outstanding achievement. As a highly active student athlete, Quinn has worked hard to demonstrate her excellent leadership abilities and strong moral character. Throughout her years at Assumption College Catholic High School she had many achievements, including medaling at OFSAA for wrestling and track, serving as an executive member of student council and participating as a HOBYrepresentative. Recently she placed first in the Culinary Arts Skills Competition and qualified to advance to the provincial level competition. Most notably, Quinn has been a member of Engineers without Borders, a group looking to spread awareness about poverty in other third world countries and encourage young people to make a difference. Quinn has certainly made a difference in our school community, and among all of these accolades she is truly a person full of honesty and integrity, an amazing example to our youth.

Congratulations Quinn Conlon, we are very proud of you!
