FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ASSUMPTION HOSTS GRADE 7 MATH COMPETITION

The Assumption College School Mathematics Department is hosting its 4th annual ACS Math Invitational for grade 7 elementary students on Monday May 25th, 2015

The competition started in 2012 and is the only one of its kind in Essex County.  Past winners include Oakwood, St. John Vianney and Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  It is a unique Math Competition in that it heavily involves teamwork in all of its activities.  Adam Mills, Math Teacher at Assumption explains the critical thinking aspect within the team environment: “This competition provides an ideal opportunity for those students passionate about mathematics to challenge themselves while still having the support of their team members.

The Event will bring together like-minded elementary students to meet and network in a creative and inspiring atmosphere.  The Grade 7 Event has increased in popularity over the four years bringing the total number of students participating to 120.
